The Quick Check
Open Google and type: site:yourwebsite.com
Pages show up
✅ Google knows you exist
❌ Nothing shows up you're invisible to search engines
Simple as that.
Why Your Site Might Not Be Showing Up:
1. Your site is too new.
Google doesn't index sites automatically or instantly. You have to tell it you exist.
2. Search engines are blocked.
During development, most sites have a setting that hides them from Google. Some developers forget to turn it off after launch. Your site could be hiding on purpose without you knowing.
3. No sitemap submitted.
A sitemap tells Google what pages are on your site. Without it, Google is guessing.
4. Little or no written content.
Google reads text. If your site is mostly images and design with minimal writing, there's nothing for Google to rank.
What To Do Next:
- Set up Google Search Console (it's free) and submit your sitemap
- Check your site settings and make sure "block search engines" is turned off
- Add clear written content to your homepage what you do, who you serve, where you're based
- Get listed on Google Business Profile to help Google find and trust you faster
A beautiful website that nobody can find is a wasted investment. Sort the foundation first then worry about everything else.
